Rebecca came to Rhian on a personal recommendation from a colleague who'd also been coached by her, as part of Rhian's work as a preferred executive coach within the organisation.

The situation

Rebecca’s confidence as a manager had taken a real hit. Her team was transitioning back into the office after COVID and a few team members were driving a negative culture, which left her questioning her own leadership. She'd lost, in her words, "a bit of my sparkle." She wanted someone outside the business who would challenge her thinking, help her navigate the situation, and rebuild her confidence.

The work

What's been invaluable is that the coaching has evolved alongside her career rather than stopping at the original brief - leadership challenges, team and business growth, interview preparation, career decisions, and the ups and downs of building her own business alongside it. Having someone who knows her well, asks the right questions, and helps her find her own answers is what she comes back for.

The outcome

The impact went well beyond that; Rebecca moved her team from lacking trust and cohesion to a stable, high-performing aligned team - delivering through major growth and a transition into Ireland. Successfully integrating the team back into the office and working more effectively together and with other teams. Working through that period, Rebecca learned to see situations more objectively and built the confidence and skill to have the required difficult conversations. She used that to raise her visibility across the business - including into the US market - and to progress deliberately into a senior leadership role. She enjoys leading people again. She trusts her own judgement, makes difficult decisions with confidence, and no longer lets challenging personalities define how she sees herself as a leader.
